What Is Flags For Heroes?

For the first time in Durham’s history, the Rotary Club of Durham presents the “Flags for Heroes” event! A field of honor will host 10-foot flags in honor of veterans, first responders, and personal heroes. All net proceeds from this fundraiser benefit Durham Rotary Club service projects, with a focus on local veteran support.

The “Flag Raising” event – Sunday, May 19, wrapping up @ 5:00 PM (Focus: Volunteer partners; club members; fun kick-off celebration; lots of hole-drilling and cheering, etc.)

The Flag Day event: Friday, June 14/AM – (Focus: First Responders as well as military honorees; capping off the 2024 event; celebrating sell-out of flags, local elected officials, police chief, etc.)
