100 Acts: EDCI Playground Work Day

Playground flyer

14 Rotarians, plus EDCI Staff and community volunteers worked together to “spruce up” the Kaboom playground and offices of EDCI on Saturday, May 16.  We painted, weeded, cleaned up the grounds, and re-organized a multi-purpose room.

Darrell Miller (below) led a group of neighborhood children in painting the playground fence.

Our group gathered around our wheel barrow full of rakes, hoes, etc., as we finished another great Rotary project!

100 Acts: Rotary Joins the Troops at Bennett Place Civil War 150th Event

Rotarians joined the troops and battled the rain and cold,
just as Civil War soldiers did, to volunteer at the 150th
Commemoration of the largest surrender of the Civil War
at Bennett Place, April 25-26.  With the urging of Rotary Generals
(board members) Sam Miglarese and Rob Everett, we
were stationed at the far outposts (parking lots), set up
equipment, and assisted the crowd to “stand in formation”
and to “march carefully” behind the Confederate and Union
military leaders as they rode their horses through the Bennett
Farm Place.
Below, Rotary “troops” reporting for duty at the Hospitality Tent,
wearing the Volunteer shirts provided by Rotary.
