Centerfest helps Durham Arts Council

We need Rotary Volunteers to help with Centerfest – Gates & Coke Booths
Go to Sign Up Genius for 2 hour shifts on Sat., Sept. 16 and Sun., Sept. 17.

Centerfest Arts Festival supports major youth programs of the Durham Arts Council:
1.  The Community Arts School:
provides accessible, quality, continuing arts education to every interested child and adult in the area, with over 600 classes and workshops  The DAC School also has Summer Arts and Intersession Camps for rising kindergarteners through 13 year olds, and Summer Teen Intensives for 13-17 years olds. 2Creative Arts in the Public/Private Schools (CAPS):  This program is a partnership with the Durham Public Schools and other community agencies to place professional artists in public and private school classrooms. CAPS artists provide creative and interactive residencies that teach core subjects (math, science, writing, social studies), character education, and a variety of life skills through the arts. CAPS impacts the lives of over 20,000 students each year by enhancing their understanding of core subjects and their appreciation for the arts and different cultures.

  1. The Community Arts School is one of the finest schools in Durham. Thanks for helping out the school and the students. I hope to make it to the Centerfest.
